THE ROLE

As a Senior Town Planner, you'll be responsible for:

* Managing and delivering a variety of planning projects, from initial appraisals to securing consents

* Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals

* Conducting site appraisals, preparing reports, and presenting recommendations to clients

* Representing clients at planning boards, appeals, and public consultations

* Offering expert advice on planning policy and development control issues

* Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders

* Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team

* Staying up to date with changes in planning legislation and industry trends

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited)

* Chartered RTPI membership or working towards it

* Significant experience in town planning, including managing complex projects

* Strong knowledge of national and local planning policies and development control

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills for engaging with clients and stakeholders

* Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

* A full UK driving licence
