About the role: SEN Teaching Assistant: Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? This is a unique opportunity to join a fantastic SEN department at a lovely primary school in Barnet. With experienced staff, plentiful resources, and excellent facilities, you'll play a key role in assisting students with Down syndrome, PMLD, and SLD on a 1:1 basis, helping them thrive in a supportive and welcoming environment. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated 1:1 support for students with a range of complex needs, including physical and learning disabilities. You will work closely with teachers and SEN specialists to implement tailored learning plans that cater to each student's unique needs. By creating a nurturing and positive environment, you will help build student confidence and foster growth in their learning journey.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working with SEN children (especially Down syndrome, PMLD, and SLD) is preferred.
• A positive, compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in SEN education.
• Relevant qualifications (TA, SEN experience, or equivalent) are desirable.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work 1:1 with students with Down syndrome and PMLD, ensuring their individual needs are met.
• Support in the development of social, emotional, and academic skills through personalised learning strategies.
• Assist students with physical tasks, movement, and communication.
• Monitor and track progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs.
• Maintain a positive, patient, and engaging approach with all students.
