Warehouse Operative

Job type: Temporary - Permanent
Hours: Full-time 7:30am- 4pm, Friday 6am-1pm (Shifts may be subject to change)
Salary: £12.70/h
Location: Wigton (rural)

We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Operative. As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse, handling goods, assisting with inventory management, and supporting the production process.

Key Responsibilities:

* Safely and efficiently load and unload goods from delivery trucks.

* Move materials and finished products to and from designated storage areas.

* Organise and maintain inventory levels, ensuring stock is stored correctly and easily accessible.

* Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet trucks, forklifts, and other machinery (training provided).

* Assist with the preparation and packaging of mattress orders for delivery.

* Ensure that the warehouse is kept clean, tidy, and free of hazards.

* Work with the warehouse team to monitor stock levels, report shortages, and assist with stock replenishment.

* Handle goods with care to prevent damage during transport or storage.

* Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies while working in the warehouse.

* Assist with stocktaking and inventory checks on a regular basis.

* Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the relevant supervisor.

* Provide support to other departments as needed.

Key Requirements:

* Previous warehouse experience (preferred but not essential).

* Ability to operate manual handling equipment and machinery (training will be provided).

* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

* A good understanding of health and safety practices.

* Flexibility to work different shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends.

* Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy items when required
