Position: Mechanical Fitter

Salary: £15.00ph - £18.00ph (Depending on Experience)

Location: Letchworth

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am - 16:00pm

Proactive are currently recruiting for multiple experienced Mechanical Fitters to begin work for a leading engineering company based in Letchworth. Working out of their new state of art facility, they design, manufacture, assemble, test and ship bespoke machinery used to complete complex tasks which are required to guarantee product quality. Covering a wide variety of industries including the medical and scientific sectors, they are market leaders in the concept design and manufacture of high precision, fully automated, bespoke machinery.

Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit additional Mechanical Fitters to meet the requirements of their new and existing customers and projects.

You will be responsible for:

Mechanical build of bespoke machinery from the ground up.
Building sub-assemblies and assemblies of varying complexity, some having up to 30 components.
Fitting of pumps, valves, tanks, push-fit pipework (no welding or brazing).
Fitting them into the machinery frames and seeing the machine build from start to finish.
Working with the engineering team throughout the build and test phase.
Working from engineering drawings and schematicsThe ideal candidate will be:

Time-served, mechanical engineering background.
Ideally hold a formal qualification - e.g., C&G / NVQ / ONC - although not essential.
Experience in building machinery, and assemblies.
Ability to read engineering drawings.
