Are you an experience CMM Engineer / Metrology Engineer seeking a new opportunity in the Dudley area?If yes, we want to hear from you!Annual Salary: £32,000 to £35,000Weekly Hours: Mon to Thurs - 8am to 4.30pm, Fri - 8am to 1.30pmWe are delighted to be working with an award-winning manufacturing facility based in the heart of the black country. Following significant investment in the facility they are looking for a CMM Engineer / Metrology Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.Working as a CMM Engineer / Metrology engineer you will play a crucial part in ensuring our client meet customer specification, specifically working in accordance with IATF16949 / ISO9001 standards. You will be a crucial part in the delivery of quality products for an array of customers worldwide.Duties will include:
  • Fully conversant in reading 3rd angle geometric drawings interpreting datums, GDT and customer specifics as required.
  • Fully conversant in using Mitutoyo 3 axis measuring machine "bridge type utilising both Renishaw probes and a non-contact laser measuring device (Faro Arm) linked to the 3-axis measuring machine. "3 axis machine type Model #removed#R Crysta-Apex - S9166 Coordinate measuring machine".
  • Software: MCosmos 3, Cat1000 Cad, MSURF-S & MSURF-1 and Polyworks
  • Evaluate colour coded parts and prepare Appearance Approval Reports for submission to customer when needed.
  • Ensure that communication related to all quality issues is effective between shifts, in respect of manufacturing cell leaders, quality engineers etc, where required containment / corrective action is implemented and applied uniformly across all shifts.
  • Liaise with customers as required to discuss measurement (PPAP/APQP) related matters.
  • Adhere to customer measurement submission timelines.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all other team members, ensuring containment/corrective action is implemented and applied uniformly.
  • Measure components using first principal measuring equipment & utilise CMM as required.
  • Product re-qualification
The ideal Metrology Engineer will have:
  • Experience of working with 1st / 2nd tier customers
  • ISO/ IATF16949 knowledge and experience
  • Background Quality/Manufacturing environment
  • ONC IQA Modules or MIQA
  • Job Related Skills SPC, C Plans, PPAP, Quality tools, Problem Solving, reading, and working with drawings.
  • APQP
  • Working knowledge of IMDS is preferable.
  • CMM - Mitutoyo, Laser Faro Arm is essential.
