Job Duties:

Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials
Construct and install structures and fixtures such as windows, doors, cabinets, and staircases
Repair and refurbish existing structures in social housing properties
Work with power and hand tools to complete projects efficiently
Follow blueprints and building codes to ensure safety and quality

Required Qualifications:

DBS Basic check
Asbestos Awareness certification

Education:

Relevant carpentry qualifications
Apprenticeship or vocational training in carpentry

Experience:

Proven experience working as a carpenter in social housing or similar environment
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and materials
Proficiency in using a variety of tools and equipment
Attention to detail and precision in work
Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

Health and Safety certification
Additional carpentry or construction-related certifications

Working Conditions:

Work on construction sites in social housing properties
May involve working at heights and in various weather conditions
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
Use of personal protective equipment as required
