Assistant Accountant£30,000 - £35,000 per annum (pro-rata for the contract term)3-Month Fixed Term (potential to go permanent)

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organised Assistant Accountant for a 3-month fixed-term contract that has potential to go permanent. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic finance team in a growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Managing accounts payable and receivable.
• Reconciliation of balance sheets and bank accounts.
• Processing invoices, expenses, and journal entries.
• Assisting with VAT returns and other statutory filings.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and data entry.
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Responding to financial queries and providing support to the finance team.

Requirements:

• AAT qualification or equivalent (part-qualified candidates are also welcome to apply).
• Previous experience in an assistant accountant or similar role.
• Strong working knowledge of Xero
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Able to work in the office full time.
• Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment..
