Belmont Recruitment are seeking a dedicated Substance Misuse and Homelessness Support Worker to join our team. This role focuses on providing tailored support to individuals at risk of homelessness, including those in emergency, temporary, or supported accommodations. Working closely with local authorities, health and social care sectors, and community partners, you will play a vital role in stabilizing vulnerable individuals and fostering their recovery and reintegration.

Key Responsibilities:

* Establish effective communication and referral pathways for individuals at risk of homelessness, ensuring access to health and care services.

* Deliver comprehensive support in emergency/temporary/supported accommodations, addressing immediate and long-term needs.

* Prioritise caseloads based on crisis severity and intervention requirements.

* Attend multidisciplinary team meetings, building connections to health services, social care, peer networks, community resources, and mutual aid.

* Strengthen collaboration with local authorities, health and social care partners, and homelessness prevention initiatives to improve service delivery.

* Enhance partnerships with primary care, mental health services, housing providers, and voluntary organisations supporting tenancy sustainment.

* Provide practical assistance with budgeting, education, training, and employment while encouraging engagement in structured services.

Location: Maidstone

Salary: £18-£20p/h

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours, 9:00-17:00

About You:
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate compassion, resilience, and expertise in supporting individuals with complex needs.

Essential Skills and Experience:

* Knowledge of the harmful effects of substance misuse on health, relationships, and housing stability.

* Minimum of 12 months' experience in tenancy sustainment and fostering positive community connections.

* Familiarity with benefits systems and assisting clients in applying for and managing benefits.

* Proven ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with varying needs.

* Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage challenging behaviours and de-escalate situations.

* Understanding of local services and interventions supporting recovery, particularly related to training, education, and tenancy sustainment.

* Knowledge of local registered social landlords and tenancy issues affecting service users.
