Company: JAMES LEWIS RECRUITMENT

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: £60000 - £75000/annum bonus

Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer seeking an opportunity where your expertise is truly valued? Do you take pride in designing innovative solutions, working on high-profile projects, and contributing to a company that rewards dedication and excellence? If so, we would love to hear from you.

As a well-established, employee-owned firm, we are looking for a skilled and self-motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will play a key role in designing mechanical services systems for projects ranging from £100,000 to £5 million, from initial brief to completion, ensuring seamless implementation by our contract management and site teams.

Your role will involve scrutinising specifications, designing mechanical services—including public health installations, domestic services, ventilation, heating, comfort cooling, and air conditioning—while ensuring compliance with current regulations such as HTM standards. A strong understanding of BMS and control systems is essential, as is the ability to carry out site visits, liaise with clients and consultants, and present designs effectively to professional and contract management teams.

We require a minimum of 10 years' experience in mechanical design engineering, supported by HNC/HND or degree-level qualifications in Building Services Engineering. Expertise in building services design and software packages is crucial, while familiarity with estimating, CAD, BIM, and Revit would be highly advantageous.

In return, we offer a competitive salary between £60,000 and £75,000, with performance-related bonuses. As part of our employee ownership model, you will receive profit share after 12 months. Additional benefits include 30 days' holiday, a pension scheme, in-service life insurance, and access to private healthcare. The role is based at our Croydon head office, Monday to Friday, with occasional travel to site for surveys and meetings. To maintain a work-life balance, we ideally seek candidates within a 45-minute to one-hour commute.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career within an innovative, employee-driven company that fosters professional growth. If you are ready to take the next step, apply today and be part of something exceptional
