Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) services, particularly in ductwork and ventilation systems, to join their growing commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a range of high-profile projects, including ongoing works on a large MOD Project in Berkshire — a secure and prestigious government site.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing the commercial and contractual aspects of M&E projects, with specific experience in ductwork packages. They will be responsible for cost control, tendering, subcontractor management, valuations, and financial reporting across the project lifecycle, from pre-construction to final account.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee commercial management of M&E/ductwork packages on large-scale projects

* Prepare and analyse tender documentation, cost plans, and commercial submissions

* Manage subcontractor accounts, applications for payment, and variation orders

* Produce monthly cost reports and forecasts to support financial decision-making

* Liaise with site and project teams to ensure compliance and financial control

* Conduct site visits, including to AWE Aldermaston, to manage commercial operations

Essential Requirements:

* Substantial experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or building services industry

* Expertise in ductwork systems and mechanical services

* Familiarity with live site operations and fast-paced project delivery

* In-depth knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts and standard commercial procedures

* Proficiency in MS Office and cost management software

* Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills

Security Requirements: Due to active works on MOD project, candidates must be eligible for UK security clearance. This will include thorough background checks and may be subject to residency and nationality criteria.
