Education Personnel are seeking a Design and Technology Teacher with a specialism in Construction to teach full-time. The role is for an immediate start, running until at least the summer term 2025, with the possibility of an extension or a permanent position.

General duties of the DT Teacher will include:

Engaging Teaching:

* Develop and deliver innovative lessons centred around construction and design technology.

* Employ modern teaching methods to engage students in construction-related projects and concepts.

Curriculum Development:

* Contribute to the enhancement of the construction-focused Design Technology curriculum.

* Incorporate real-world construction applications and industry standards into lesson plans.

Practical Project Management:

* Guide students in hands-on construction projects, from design through to completion.

* Promote practical learning, problem-solving, and critical thinking with a focus on construction.

Safety and Assessment:

* Maintain a safe workshop environment, particularly in construction and heavy machinery areas.

* Assess student progress in construction projects and provide constructive, industry-relevant feedback.

Extracurricular and Industry Engagement:

* Organise extracurricular activities related to construction, such as workshops or field trips.

* Build relationships with local construction firms and industry professionals to provide real-world exposure for students.

Providing Safeguarding and Pastoral Support:

* Ensure the well-being and safety of students in both classroom and workshop settings.
