Are you an experienced Accounts individual with strong Payables knowledge, or an ambitious individual with some initial experience?

Reed Accountancy in Oxford are pleased to be exclusively partnering with a fast growing organisation, with ambitious development plans and a prestigious culture, to help source an Accounts Payable Assistant to join the finance function. the responsibilities of the role include:     

  • In the first instance reconciling supplier ledgers, maintaining invoice queries within Procure Wizard and taking control of the account relating to development side of the business.
  • Liaising with suppliers in order to resolve queries regarding payments etc.
  • Processing supplier invoices and credit notes, matching to orders/delivery notes
  • General maintenance of Procure Wizard
  • Setting up new suppliers in accordance to agreed terms
  • Setting up new products as required
  • Audit accounts payable invoices to make sure of correct coding
  • Monthly supplier statement reconciliations
  • Dealing with external and internal queries by phone and email
  • Assisting with payment runs, ensuring all due invoices are processed on the system
  • Ensuring that all accounts payable activities comply with relevant financial policies and procedures
  • Evaluate performance and make suggestions to cut costs
  • Develop good working relationships with suppliers
  • Negotiate favourable payment terms and pricing with suppliers where possible
  • Find ways to improve payment systems

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and/or be AAT level 3 studying or over. You will be collaborative and communicative and be a key player in a small, but growing team. There is potential to develop and progress in the role, or alternatively would be an ideal fit for someone keen to find a settled role. This role would initially be in the office 5 days a week, and whilst it is accessible via public transport, access to your own transport would be preferable.
