Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant

Long-term to Permanent Position

Hours: 32.5 hours per week

Working Weeks per Year: 38 weeks per year (Term Time)

Pay - £400 - £500 per week

Are you looking to work as a SEND Teaching Assistant in a Primary School, located in the heart of Greenwich. We are thrilled to be recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for schools in and surrounding boroughs of Greenwich.

We are seeking a dedicated, resourceful, and compassionate Teaching Assistant to inspire and support our children in their daily school life. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive, inclusive, and passionate team. Your role will focus on supporting children with high-needs funding or those with early help care plans. You will be primarily based in an EYFS classroom, offering group and 1:1 support to children.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Collaborating with the class teacher to provide outstanding support for teaching and learning.

* Offering 1:1 and group support to children.

* Participating in educational trips with student groups.

* Assisting in assessment and documenting learning progress.

* Working alongside teachers to create engaging classroom displays and learning materials.

* Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all children.

* Creating opportunities for all children to reach their full potential, regardless of their abilities.

* Supporting children with special educational needs, with your daily tasks varying according to their individual needs. You'll need to use your initiative and remain calm in challenging situations.

* Making a profound social impact by positively influencing a child's life trajectory.

Qualifications and Skills:

* A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning in schools.

* A genuine passion for working with young people who require additional support to access education and develop socially.

* Ideally, previous experience in supporting children with SEND, particularly in ASD/SEMH interventions, such as sensory circuits and speech and language support.

* Proactive and positive, always striving to meet children's learning needs.

* The ability to build strong rapport with children.

* Dedication to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem, and progress of every member of our school community.
