M Pro Recruitment are working wiht leading provider of construction services, specializing in delivering high-quality, reliable, and efficient plant machinery for a wide range of construction projects. who pride themselves on maintaining the highest safety standards and working with top-of-the-line equipment. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Construction Plant Mechanic to join their growing team.

Role

As a Construction Plant Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide variety of construction plant machinery and equipment, including diggers, cranes, loaders, excavators, and other heavy plant machinery. You will play a crucial role in ensuring all machinery is in optimal working condition, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safety on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of construction plant machinery.

Carry out fault finding, troubleshooting, and repairs on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and inspections.

Ensure all plant machinery meets health and safety standards and complies with relevant regulations.

Assist with the installation of new machinery and equipment.

Work closely with site managers and other team members to ensure machinery availability and efficiency.

Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide on-site support where required.

Keep up to date with industry advancements and technical developments.

Skills & Experience:

Proven experience as a Plant Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic, preferably in the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of construction plant machinery (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, cranes, telehandlers).

Experience with diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.

Ability to work independently and manage your workload efficiently.

Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent) are desirable.

Full UK driving license (or relevant local driving license).
