Job Title: Site Supervisor - Civil Engineering
Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire
Working Hours: 07:30 - 17:00

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Supervisor to support the delivery of a wide range of local authority civil engineering schemes across Northamptonshire. This role covers maintenance and improvement works such as footway reconstruction, carriageway resurfacing, drainage works, traffic signal upgrades, and structural repairs.

You will be responsible for overseeing site activity, managing compliance, ensuring safety, and contributing to the successful completion of projects within scope, on time and to specification.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure health and safety compliance for all site personnel and the public

*

Supervise construction works in accordance with project plans and contracts

*

Assist with the implementation of Principal Contractor duties under CDM

*

Carry out pre-start checks and ensure appropriate permits and documentation are in place

*

Conduct daily briefings, tool box talks, and regular site inspections

*

Record progress and communicate programme issues to the Site Manager

*

Maintain detailed records of manpower, plant, and materials

*

Monitor change control and ensure all updates are signed off and briefed to the team

*

Inspect quality of works in line with design, specifications, and inspection plans

*

Promote wellbeing and an inclusive working environment

Essential Requirements:

*

SSSTS (or SMSTS)

*

NRSWA Supervisor certification

*

12D Lantra Traffic Management certification

*

Temporary Works Supervisor accreditation

*

Valid First Aid qualification

*

Clean driving licence

Skills & Experience:

*

Previous experience managing direct labour and civils contractors

*

Strong communication skills with both public and project stakeholders

*

Excellent organisational skills and ability to lead by example

*

Confident in IT systems including MS Office and order management tools

*

Understanding of CDM regulations, NEC4 contracts, and construction programming

*

Knowledge of civils, resurfacing, structures, and relevant specifications
