My client is a world-leading performing arts centre in the heart of London. They are seeking a Facilities Manager to support join their established FM team. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on attitude, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to environmental sustainability. This role is integral to ensuring the safety, maintenance, and efficient operation of their facilities.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and proactively manage the school’s safety in light of various challenges.
  • Maintain fire protection provisions, conduct weekly fire alarm tests, and periodic evacuation drills.
  • Oversee facilities maintenance contracts and ensure timely servicing of all plant, equipment, and premises.
  • Coordinate and oversee on-site contractors, ensuring adherence to safety and conduct standards.
  • Manage the school’s IT infrastructure in liaison with outsourced IT service providers, ensuring efficient and effective operation.
  • Maintain oversight of fixed assets and ensure compliance with GDPR.
  • Manage reception and security staffing, ensuring adequate security provisions are in place.
  • Liaise with cleaning contractors and oversee waste disposal and recycling collections.
  • Support staff by arranging training in IT, health and safety, First Aid, fire safety, and other relevant areas.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar facilities management role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a good hands-on attitude.
  • Ability to problem-solve, time manage, delegate, and prioritise.
  • Attention to detail and good organisational skills.
  • Numerate and IT literate with good written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to train and upgrade skills as necessary.
  • Experience in procurement and contract negotiation.
  • Desirable: Understanding of environmental issues, sustainability, and a commitment to carbon reduction.
