International Sales Manager (MD Designate) - Machinery Manufacturing

Are you an experienced and energetic Sales Manager with experience in capital equipment sales? Are you looking to use your experience and expertise to grow into an MD position?
This is a business with an industry leading product manufactured in Herefordshire and sold globally, the business also has as a very well establish sub con side to the business, fabricating for other globally renowned manufacturers.
Initially we are looking for someone to come in and take ownership of global sales, upon success of this the next step will be to learn about and take control of the overall operation of the business, covering all aspects of manufacturing including the sub contract part of the business.
The ideal Sales Manager candidate for this position will have strong sales and market knowledge with a track record of managing people and commercial processes - on offer is the chance to step up into an MD designate position, experience in equipment sales and developing dealer networks is essential - ideally in mobile machinery - plant/forklift etc.
The role comes with staged objectives
Initial Stage:
* Accelerate the sale of finished goods stock in Australia.
* Increase direct sales in the UK.
* Develop sales activity in North America.
* Identify, enter and support new geographical markets through vetted/stable dealers.
* Review existing and new sub-con work margins with Ops Director.
* Manage sales, service, spares and profit margins.
* Be a part of the management team who are collectively responsible for the operational management of the business and the overall annual financial results.
Second Stage (MD Designate)
* Spend time understanding the business manufacturing processes and constraints.
* Lead the management team as MD.
* Understand and authorise all payments made by the business.
* Formulate a supplier, overheads and employee cost control plan.
* Support/mentor salaried employees regarding people management and commercial decisions.
