Description of the Role:
Simply Education is excited to be working with a well-respected secondary school in Stockport, Greater Manchester, to recruit a passionate and dedicated Secondary English Teacher. This full-time position will involve teaching English Language and English Literature to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking, while ensuring students achieve their academic goals.

As an English Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in encouraging academic excellence and fostering a lifelong appreciation of the English language.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
Develop creative and effective lesson plans that inspire a love of literature, writing, and language.
Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing tailored feedback to ensure students meet their learning objectives.
Differentiate lessons to cater to the diverse needs of students and ensure every learner is challenged appropriately.
Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect.
Foster high standards of behavior, discipline, and academic effort in all lessons.
Collaborate with colleagues within the English department and across the school to develop resources, share best practices, and enhance teaching strategies.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress, and regularly communicate with parents and carers about student achievements and areas for development.
Participate in staff meetings, school events, and ongoing professional development to continuously improve your teaching practice.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
A strong understanding of the English curriculum and GCSE English Language & Literature requirements.
Passion for teaching English, with the ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their best.
Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of all abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Enhanced DBS check (we can assist with this if necessary).
