Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a passionate and experienced 1:1 SEND Tutor to support a child with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) who is unable to attend school full-time. This rewarding opportunity is through a well-regarded SEND school in Ormskirk.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver tailored, 1:1 lessons to meet the child's individual learning needs.
Plan and adapt engaging lessons in line with the child's EHCP and school guidance.
Provide support in areas such as literacy, numeracy, communication, and emotional well-being.
Work collaboratively with the school and parents to monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that helps build confidence and independence.

Essential Requirements

Proven experience working with children with SEND, particularly in a 1:1 or small group setting.
Strong knowledge of planning and delivering differentiated lessons.
Understanding of specific SEND needs, such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other learning difficulties.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build a trusting relationship with the child and their family.
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with children with complex needs.

Desirable Qualifications

A teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent tutoring experience.
SEND-specific training or qualifications (e.g., Makaton, TEACCH, or similar).
