Castlefield Recruitment are working with a leading council based in London to help recruit an accomplished Financial Planning Consultant. This role is vital in overseeing the financial planning, ensuring robust financial management and strategic oversight. The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in financial planning within the public sector.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the financial planning adhering to financial regulations and the council’s strategic objectives
• Provide strategic financial advice and insights to senior management and project leaders
• Ensure timely and effective preparation and presentation of detailed reports
• Provide financial advice and guidance to key stakeholders
• Support the council with business partnering and financial improvements
• Ensure effective financial controls and risk management processes are in place and adhered to
• Support the continuous improvement of financial planning processes and systems

Personal

• A recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or equivalent)
• Extensive experience in financial planning and management within the public sector, preferably Local Authority
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and best practices in the public sector
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects and budgets
