Purchasing Assistant required in Staines

Plant Department

This position will be based in - London (Staines) Head Office

Work pattern: Full time - 5 days a week in the office

Key Duties:

To carry out the procurement of materials via site requisitions and general purchasing administration, under the direction of the Purchasing & Plant Manager.

Undertake the procurement of materials requested from site via Material Requisitions.

Obtain competitive prices for materials required, ensuring lead times comply with site demands.

Negotiate best prices and analyse quotations received, to achieve best value and quality.

Place orders in line with the requisition dates for delivery.

To liaise with accounts on any delivery ticket and invoice queries.

Carry our any purchasing administrative duties required, within the Purchasing & GRN team

Skills / Experience required for the role:

Approachable and polite, ability to deal with deadlines.

Good communication and ability to work in a team environment.

Excellent negotiation skills, and develop long term relationships with suppliers.

Ideally have a good degree of product & construction industry knowledge.

Ability to perform the role in accordance with company policies, processes and standards.

High quality standards, finisher, and attention to detail required.

Be able to use standard computer software packages (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, Document Control Systems) and proprietary computer packages (COINS) for carrying out all tasks.
