Are you looking for a role within a growing company that will offer real career progression?

Our client is a growing HGV Fleet servicing company based in the Colchester area. Due to expansion, they are looking for an experienced, innovative, and dynamic multi-disciplined, HGV Technician to join our clients workshop in Colchester on a full-time, permanent basis. We would like to hear from you if you have worked in a similar environment and understand the intricate workings of large commercial vehicles.

Job Purpose:

To carry out the service & repair of HGVs - Including routine servicing, break tests, MOT preparation, completion of job sheets and documentation and chassis and body repairs and fault diagnosis.

ROLE:

* Routine maintenance & servicing.

* MOT preparation, break testing, remedial repairs as directed by the director and as required.

* Keeping a tight work schedule and maintenance for all vehicles.

* Ensuring all work is carried out to DVSA standard including the completion of all associated paperwork.

* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, implementing effective solutions to minimise vehicle downtime.

* Accurately report and record work completed, and tests carried out, including immediately reporting any further work required or vehicle faults

* Provide information, maintain records and carry out all duties in an accurate, efficient and timely manner

* Communicate effectively with Drivers re. defects, inspections and reports.

In order to be successful in this role, you will work well as part of a small team and be able to work competently on your own, being able to successfully prioritise and complete your schedule of works, be a good communicator and have the ability to take on a variety of different workloads, planned or otherwise.

CANDIDATE:

* Excellent mechanical knowledge

* Previous working experience within the role

* Fully qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

* Problem Solver - Actively seeking solutions

* Health and Safety - Understanding that Health & Safety is always our priority

* A Class 1 Licence may be beneficial to your application but is not essential.
