About the Role

Are you an experienced sales and underwriting professional with a passion for leadership and business development?

We are looking for a Head of Financial Lines (Sector Sales) to drive performance, optimise operations, and lead a team in delivering profitable growth.

This role can be based in Leeds, Birmingham, London or Manchester with national travel.

What You Will Do

• Lead and manage the open market Financial Lines new business underwriting team.

• Work closely with the Broker Distribution Senior Leadership Team to ensure alignment and collaboration.

• Optimise underwriting and new business processes, leveraging technology to enhance productivity.

• Develop and implement strategies to improve broker service experience and operational excellence.

• Set and achieve challenging quote and conversion rate targets to drive GWP growth.

• Embed CRM usage within the team to ensure consistency and efficiency.

• Provide mentorship, training, and development support to underwriters.

• Maintain and enhance the highest standards of customer service and professional integrity.

What You Will Bring

• A proven track record in sales/underwriting operations within a Broker/Commercial Insurance environment.

• Expertise in Financial Lines insurance (e.g., Professional Indemnity, Technology, Life Science).

• Strong analytical and data management skills, with experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM system).

• A background in operational/business development roles with demonstrated success in achieving new business and portfolio growth targets.

• Experience in project and stakeholder management (internal and external).

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work seamlessly with executive and leadership teams
