We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN / SEMH Teacher to join our team and support our students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our secondary school is committed to empowering students to achieve their potential through tailored educational strategies and a compassionate approach.

Key Responsibilities

As a SEN / SEMH Teacher, you will:

* Provide high-quality teaching and learning for students with SEN and SEMH needs, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed.

* Develop individual education plans (IEPs) and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of students.

* Implement strategies to support students' emotional, social, and academic development.

* Work closely with other professionals, including teaching assistants, counselors, and external agencies, to ensure a holistic approach to supporting students.

* Monitor and assess students' progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary to meet evolving needs.

* Foster a safe and positive classroom environment where students feel supported, valued, and motivated to engage.

* Support students in developing essential life skills, confidence, and resilience.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will:

* Be a qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a passion for supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs.

* Have experience teaching secondary-aged students with SEN / SEMH needs, or a willingness to develop expertise in this area.

* Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a calm and positive learning environment.

* Have a strong understanding of various learning strategies and interventions for students with SEN / SEMH.

* Be able to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support the holistic development of students.

* Show empathy, patience, and resilience in working with young people who face challenges
