Leader Education are looking for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work in a Mainstream Primary School based in Newcastle. The successful LSA will work 1:1 and in small groups with children who may have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and ideally have prior experience working in education.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 3:30pm and is a long-term position. An ASAP start is available for the LSA who has a DBS on the Update service.
The successful candidate will have:
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to obtain one
- Experience of working with young children
- A qualification relevant to education is desirable
- A motivating and supportive presence towards the children
- An encouraging attitude towards the students by assisting them with their needs within the classroom
- Clear communication skills
- An ability to empower the students when reaching achievements or small goals
- Help to plan classroom activities and prepare materials needed for each lesson
