Leader Education are recruiting multiple SEND Teaching and Support Assistants to work at a specialist school located in Kirklees. This school is part of a specialist trust and caters for children aged 4 to 11 years old who have EHCPs specified for ASC/PMLD and multi diagnosis. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children who have special needs and are also willing to support on a 1:1 basis.

The schools main aim is to provide Outstanding education for all students which was achieved on their last Ofsted!

The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30 to 3:30pm and is a long-term position given a successful trial.

The successful candidate will have:

• An enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience working alongside children with SEND in an education setting
• A compassionate personality
• A knowledgeable understanding of safeguarding and ensuring the well-being of children
• The ability to support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
