ob Specification - Machine Operative

Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk
Pay Rate: £13.50 - £15.00 per hour (depending on department)
Hours: 06:00 - 18:00, 3 to 4 days per week (including 1 weekend day)
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent (Permanent opportunity after 3 months)
Overtime: Enhanced overtime rates available
Commute: Easily accessible from Thetford, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, and Ely. On-site parking provided.

Role Overview:

As a Machine Operative, you'll play a key role in supporting our growing manufacturing operations. You'll work within a fast-paced production environment, operating either assembly machines or multi-spindle lathes. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving, and being part of a team that meets daily production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate machinery in either assembly or lathe sections

Perform machine start-up and shut-down procedures

*

Carry out basic machine maintenance and fault-finding

*

Monitor production output to ensure consistent quality

*

Assist with tooling changes and machine adjustments

*

Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace

*

Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operative role is beneficial but not essential

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Mechanically minded with a hands-on approach to work
