Our client is a Medical Device Technology company passionate about developing diagnostic solutions. Their diagnostics provide testing and solutions at the point of need for customers and users.

Reporting to a Head of Engineering the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting existing business needs by developing new and improved processes, tooling and manufacturing concepts and undertaking cost saving and obsolescence management projects.

The successful candidate will review existing product design & manufacturing processes & identify improvement opportunities, including proposing, implementing and monitoring of optimisation solutions to deliver superior quality at reduced cost.

Responsibilities:

The Manufacturing Engineer will create the strategy for the verification/validation of the new designs and participate in verification/validation activities
Use project management tools to establish timelines, build action item lists, assign responsibility, completion dates and achieve milestones
Complete projects, report status, and document lessons learns in and efficient manner
The Manufacturing Engineer will provide technical assistance and engineering support to the manufacturing floor ensuring production of quality products
Provide Engineering support which includes; vendor contact and evaluating specifications
Produce DHF and DMR documentation for transfer to manufacturing
The Manufacturing Engineer will follow SOP on re-validation of existing equipment, tooling and processes
Perform all duties in compliance with the quality management system; actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System
Work with Quality Control team to generate, update and implement all project related documentation including control plans, work instructions, manufacturing procedures, sample request, process guides and troubleshooting guides
Contribute to risk management content such as FMEA, PFMEA and hazard analysis

Requirements:

Either a Degree/HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or track record in a similar role
Manufacturing expertise in medical sector or related field
Ideally application of problem-solving & continuous improvement ( e.g. Lean / 6σ)
Product Introduction/Development
Creation, deployment & training of procedures, SOPs & manufacturing documentation
CAD modelling (SolidWorks/Altium or similar)
Ability to work onsite and travel when required
