The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Design & Technology Technician to join our dynamic DT department. This is a key role supporting the delivery of a broad curriculum across various specialisms, including Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, and Textiles.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing, setting up, and maintaining equipment and materials for DT lessons.
Assisting teaching staff with practical lessons, providing technical support and guidance to students.
Ensuring all Health & Safety guidelines are followed within the DT department, including regular safety checks and risk assessments.
Managing and maintaining inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring the DT workshop is kept clean and organized.
Assisting in the creation of teaching resources and displays within the department.
Supporting students with the use of machinery and tools, ensuring they operate them safely.
Providing technical assistance during extra-curricular activities and school events as required.
The Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience as a DT Technician or similar role within a school environment is desirable.
A good understanding of Health & Safety regulations, particularly within a workshop environment.
Proficiency in using and maintaining a range of tools and machinery, including CNC machines, 3D printers, and laser cutters.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both staff and students.
