Job Title: Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Co-Ordinator
Reporting to: Site Operations Manager

Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the role is to be the competent health, safety, environmental and quality person for the site, ensuring, as a minimum, that HSE legal compliance is achieved, as well as preventing harm to and protecting the environment by minimising the impact of Owens-Cornings activities from the 2 sites.Main responsibilities
- Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new and changes in health, safety, environment and quality legislation and ensure that the site has systems and procedures in place to meet legal compliance and compliance to ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and FSC accreditation.
- Work with UK IMS Lead to ensure standardisation of high level procedures between Dudley and Barnsley.
- Along with the site management team, develop and improve the site HSE culture through engagement and empowerment.
- Provide competent support to management on identifying HSE gaps and areas for improvement and developing action plans to resolve.
- Ensure comprehensive HSE policies and associated procedures are developed, maintained and communicated in line with Owens-Cornings requirements.
- Work proactively with managers and other key staff to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in health, safety, environmental and quality matters.
- Undertake regular audits and inspections.
- Ensure that rigorous risk assessment, accident and incident management systems are in place.
- Undertake analysis of accident / incident statistics, identifying trends and developing corresponding improvement plans.
- Manage & regularly review risk assessments for the site.
- Assist in the completion of fire risk assessments for the site in line with legal requirements.
- Advise on requirements for occupational health surveillance in line with relevant and applicable legislation.
- Liaise with the site’s Occupational Health provider on Occupational Health Matters as they affect the site.
- Manage the accident, incident and safety concerns database.
- Liaison with enforcing authorities (e.g. HSE) as required.
- Undertake the planning and implementation of Emergency drills and related procedures.
- Ensure that appropriate records are maintained in compliance with legal requirements, e.g. COSHH.
- Design and deliver HSE training events on key areas of activity and support the planning and delivery of external HSE Training
- Lead the site Health and Safety Committee and participate in other sub committees as required.
- Support Managers and supervisors to enable the delivery of their personal and area HSE objectives.
- Manage and maintain the site HSE Budget.
- Investigate quality problems and implement corrective actions
Qualifications & experience
- NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) or working towards
- Either hold or working towards Technical Membership of IOSH
- Minimum of IOSH Managing Safely with previous experience in a H&S role
