THE ROLE - SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work one-to-one with a Year 5 student with ASD. This student is new to the school and is finding it challenging to regulate his emotions. He has developed some difficult behaviors and habits that need to be addressed to help him transition smoothly to secondary school. While the student can access the curriculum with ease, he struggles with certain aspects, particularly the writing sessions, and often becomes anxious when asked to record his learning.The student is highly intelligent and has his own ideas about how he wants to complete tasks, which often leads to frustration and emotional outbursts. He needs a strong, patient, and empathetic individual to support him through these moments and help him feel safe and understood.
