Job Title: Interim Senior Procurement Business Partner

Our client, a local authority in Gloucestershire, is seeking an Interim Senior Procurement Business Partner to lead procurement within the Economy, Environment, and Infrastructure portfolio. This senior role will manage a small team and oversee a range of high-value, complex contracts, primarily focused on facilities management, transport, and corporate infrastructure. Experience in social care and public health procurement is highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a small team, guiding them in delivering complex, high-value procurements.
- Support the development of procurement tools and team guidance, fostering professional growth within the team.
- Oversee procurement activities within the Economy, Environment, and Infrastructure portfolio, ensuring effective delivery across facilities management, transport, and infrastructure projects.
- Engage in the planning and implementation of the Procurement Annual Plan (PA23), aligning with the authority's strategic objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- MCIPS (or working towards) is desirable.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, complex procurement projects, ideally within local government or the public sector.
- Strong background in FM, transport, and infrastructure procurement; additional experience in social care and public health procurement is highly valuable.
- Experience leading and developing small teams in a procurement environment.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong understanding of procurement regulations, policies, and best practices in the public sector.
