In this role you will be responsible for product design, development, and detailing utilizing CAD software and other engineering skills / calculations. Developing engineering and coordinating a team of Designers being responsible for Projects specific areas, machines, technologies and working closely with Project Engineer to reach assigned targets.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Accountable for the completion of 3D modelling, detail design, technical calculations, and product development as assigned by management utilizing the internal software and tools.

· Responsible for assigned portion of product design and development process, ensuring project schedules are maintained while following the Company standards.

· Coordinate and mentor the Designer Engineers, whilst maintaining responsibility for Projects within specific areas, working closely with Project Engineers to reach assigned target

· Develop the layout of areas of equipment, proposal layout, basic engineering of new mechanical equipment based on Customer requests

· Carry out complex mechanical calculations

· Oversee Design Engineers during detail engineering stage

· Participate in commercial / technical (basic and detail design) meetings worldwide. This will involve customer interaction and other business units such as Civil, Piping, Automation

· Assist Purchasing, Manufacturing, Erection and Commissioning Departments during handling of developed engineering where necessary

· Continuous monitoring on project progress, identify any areas of concern, escalate where necessary and manage customer expectations

· Support sales activities through drawing/document creation and on-site reverse engineering of products.

· Liaison with representatives from suppliers during technical evaluations of project solutions.

· Manage expectations, clarify requirements and make requests, including submission deadline changes, as required.

About you:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
3-5 years of experience in 2D and 3D CAD required (Autodesk Inventor an advantage but not essential) within an OEM structured engineering department
Metallurgy, material science, heat treatment; specific knowledge in cutting, welding, heat treatment and machining
Mechanical calculations (NX, MathCAD, Microsoft Excel)
Free reading of design/technical documentation
To operate freely with international documentation: technical books, standards, catalogues etc (AutoCAD, Inventor)
Work in international groups with ability to communicate both verbally and written and work within a worldwide team environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability looking at overall results and finer details.
Ability to prioritise workload, on-time delivery and deliver on-time results to Company standards whilst working on multiple projects.
Experience undertaking structured writing in the form of technical reports.
Available for regular business travel (worldwide)
Basic product/plant understanding and know-how (what pieces go where and how to find reference information).
