Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a 2 form-entry Primary School based in Kirby.

The School and Role

An 'outstanding'  2-form entry primary school are looking for an SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 2. The school is seeking a compassionate, adaptable, and experienced individual who is skilled in supporting young people with additional needs, including autism and ADHD, and who demonstrates a strong commitment to fostering positive behavior, emotional well-being, and safeguarding.

What We're Looking For:

Previous experience supporting young people with additional needs, such as autism, ADHD, or similar
A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to managing emotional and behavioral challenges.
An understanding of child-centered principles such as PACE and approaches to trauma-informed care.

Experience working with individuals experiencing anxiety, trauma, or emotional difficulties.
Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with the young person, their family, and the wider team.
Adaptability and problem-solving abilities to respond to the young person's evolving requirements.
A strong dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of the young person at all time
Requirements
To be considered for this role, we'll require that you:

Experience with children and/or young people
Proactive, personable with a real positive can-do attitude
Have a DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.

Desirable Training and Qualifications:

Level 3/4/5 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
Positive Handling Training.
Training in PACE principles or trauma-informed practices.
Specialist training or experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD.
 Mental Health First Aid Certification or equivalent.
 Knowledge of sensory integration strategies for children with sensory processing needs (Sensory Circuits).
