An Ofsted-rated 'Good' SEN School in Leicester is looking for passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their supportive team. If you have experience working across Early Years to Year 6, this is a great opportunity for you!

At our school, we provide a caring, safe, and stimulating environment where all children can access high-quality learning tailored to their individual needs. We cater to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism, PMLD, MLD, Downs Syndrome, ADHD, and challenging behaviour. The needs vary, and we offer full support to ensure each child thrives.

You will be working from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with small class sizes of 10 pupils, alongside 1 teacher and 2 Learning Support Assistants (LSAs). You will also benefit from a strong leadership team. Both primary and secondary-trained TAs are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:

Support pupils with special educational needs in the classroom.
Assist with the personal and academic development of children across Early Years to Year 6.
Work collaboratively with teachers and LSAs to create a positive learning environment.
Help manage challenging behaviours in line with school policies.
Foster a caring and supportive atmosphere for all students.
Work across both KS1 and KS2 phases providing additional support where needed.
Requirements of a SEN Teaching Assistant:

Experience working with children with SEN (Autism, PMLD, MLD, Downs Syndrome, ADHD, etc.).
Ability to support children with various learning needs.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Primary-trained TAs, as well as graduates, university students, youth/support workers, residential workers, and nursing staff, are encouraged to apply.
Will have a Clear Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce/ Child and Adult Workforce) registered to the Update Service. - If you don't already have a DBS, we can help you apply for one.
