Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Systems Administrator to join their team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of IT systems and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- User Support: Provide guidance and assistance to users, resolving technical issues and enhancing system usability.
- System Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain corporate hardware, software, and related infrastructure.
- Operational Compliance: Ensure adherence to organizational policies and identify opportunities to enhance system processes.
- Fault Diagnosis and Resolution: Diagnose and address performance issues to maintain optimal system reliability.
- System Testing: Conduct routine tests on software and applications, ensuring they meet performance requirements.
- Database Monitoring: Monitor and report issues on Linux and SQL databases, collaborating with the infrastructure team for resolutions.
- System Upgrades: Administer updates and upgrades to software versions while maintaining synchronization between QA and production environments.
- Dashboard Reporting: Build and present monthly system performance and support reports to stakeholders.
- After-Hours Support: Provide critical after-hours support for production systems, including network connections and third-party integrations.
Key Skills
- Expertise in AWS and Azure tenant management.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux server management and Windows Server/Active Directory.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, VMware vSphere, and Mimecast administration.
- Ability to manage storage systems, VPNs, and load balancers.
- Skilled in database first-line support, including SQL.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented mindset.
- At least 5 years of experience managing Active Directory and Windows Server environments.
- At least 2 years of experience in AWS and Azure/M365 tenant management.
- VMWare and AWS certifications are advantageous.
Qualifications
- Matric certification.
- A+, N+, and MCSE/MCSA or equivalent IT qualifications.
