Network Engineer (LAN/WAN Design and Deployment) - Contract Vacancy

Rate: £170 - £200 p/d

Working Location: Fully Remote (US working hours)

Contract Length: 12 Months

My Client is seeking a highly motivated Network Engineer with expertise in technologies LAN and WAN. The candidate will support network design, deployment, and troubleshooting as per project requirements. This is a great opportunity.

This role requires deep understanding of network infrastructure and excellent communication.

Required ability to work effectively during U.S. business hours.

Key Responsibilities

Network Design:
Collaboration with project teams to design LAN/WAN infrastructure that meets business and technical requirements.
Create detailed network diagrams and documentation for proposed solutions.
Deployment & Implementation:
Deploy and configure network hardware, including routers, switches, and wireless systems.
Make ensuring that new network components are successfully incorporated into current systems.
Verify and test network configurations to guarantee peak performance and adherence to project requirements.
Troubleshooting & Optimization:
Diagnose and resolve network issues during and post-deployment phases.
Optimize network configurations to ensure maximum performance and uptime.
Collaboration & Coordination:
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to comprehend the deliverables and scope of the project.
Work with suppliers and outside service providers to arrange for the purchase and installation of hardware..
Communicate with DyNS Customer Network Design teams and BT Operate/GCS
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, processes, and changes.
Provide regular updates on project progress to stakeholders. Produce high level design documentation, network diagrams and Bills of Materials
Produce low level and site designs for field engineers to implement.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent (desirable).
Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
Hands-on experience with network hardware (e.g., Cisco).
Great understanding of Cisco LAN switches and WAN routers, configuration and deployment
Detailed understanding of WLAN configuration and deployment
Detailed understanding of routing protocols including BGP
Detailed understanding of Cisco IoS and CLI
Detailed understanding of remote access devices and methods
Proven experience of working directly with customers (communication skills)
Fluent in English
