Role: Principal IT Infrastructure Engineer

Our client are looking for a Principal IT Infrastructure Engineer, who must be extremely technical and enjoys being very hands-on as they have ambitious plans to transform their infrastructure. They are also looking for someone who is very personable, ambitious and a real team player.

Duties:

* Identifying ways to enhance the IT infrastructure.

* Devising technical solutions and leading the technical implementation.

* Working on a variety of projects end-to-end.

* Maintenance and creation of documentation related to the infrastructure services.

* Mentoring the IT team to provide first-class service.

* Challenging service providers to deliver value.

* Function as an escalation point of contact within the IT team.

Skills and experience:

* Managing and maintaining physical and virtual servers (Hyper-V), storage solutions, and network equipment.

* Hands-on experience in managing LAN/WAN, VPN and wireless networks.

* Implementing network security measures.

* Implementing secure hardening of Active Directory, servers, PC images and cloud environments.

* Previous experience of migrating from on-prem servers to Microsoft Azure Cloud environment (desirable).

* Knowledge of Microsoft security stack - Intune, Endpoint Protection and Sentinel (desirable).

* Strong infrastructure skillset across a wide remit of areas.

* Excellent verbal and written communication.

* Team player.
