We are recruiting an experienced claims handler who is looking for a new challenge in a role which offers career progression into the subsidence sector. Subsidence experience is desired but not essential as full training will be provided, we would also look to consider someone who has property experience and can adapt their experience and knowledge to the role.

As a claim's technician, you will manage a portfolio of claims from first notification of loss through the settlement as you will have full ownership to determine the best course of action for the claim. Working alongside a building consultant on your workload as well, you will be able to ensure the customers receives the best outcome whilst maintaining excellent customer service. You will be part of a supportive team within a fast-paced environment and as such, we require someone with a resilient and positive attitude.

About you:

* Subsidence background is desirable but not essential and therefore, we would consider applicants with domestic home/property claim handling from instruction to completion.

* Exceptional Customer Service ethics.

* Effective communication and negotiation skills.

* Ideally have, or be progressing with Cert CII and Cert CILA qualifications.

* Self-motivated, conscientious, and able to work under your own initiative.

* Commitment to gaining the relevant knowledge and skill for the professional and technical requirements of the job.

The role:

* You will interact with policy holders, insurance companies, contractors, and other stakeholders daily

* Assess whether the claim is valid and the extent of loss, determining liability and being able to consider the customer's policy and level of coverage

* You will deal with challenging and sometimes complex situations and being able to provide accurate conclusions based on evidence from through investigations

* You will handle multiple claims simultaneously and effectively manage your time accordingly, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines to ensure timely resolution of claims

* Reach fair and satisfactory settlements where required

* You will ensure GDPR processes are adhered to as well as codes of conduct to protect confidential information

* Applying your knowledge and understanding of insurance policies and processes as well as your technical skills to determine the best course of action for the customer
