Electrical Shift Technician

Location: City of London

Salary: £51,000 +

Our client is currently seeking a proactive and skilled Electrical Shift Technician to join their team in Canary Wharf, London. As the Shift Technician, you will be responsible for implementing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, small projects, and help desk calls to ensure the smooth operation of the building's electrical, fire life safety, and mechanical systems.

What this job involves:

Taking ownership of maintenance and reactive repairs of electrical, fire life safety, and mechanical building services and associated equipment.
Collaborating with administrative staff to ensure timely closures and completions of PPM and reactive tasks.
Reporting all engineering activity and incidents to the Shift Leader.
Prioritising and completing PPM activities within set SLA schedules, adhering to engineering standards and regulations to maximise operational effectiveness and reliability.
Maintaining adherence to health and safety requirements and organisational standards.
Ensuring quality assurance procedures are followed, maintaining accurate records/documentation related to work activity.
Responding promptly to reactive maintenance issues and help desk requests.
Coordinating with specialist sub-contractors and reviewing engineering reports and recommendations with the shift leader.
Building and maintaining positive relationships with all building users, responding to requests and instructions in a positive manner.Desired experience:

Working knowledge of business-critical assets including UPS, emergency power generation, air conditioning systems, and fire life safety.
HSE accredited/recognised training course(s).
Experience in the electrical/mechanical aspects of commercial building assets and systems.
Understanding of building BMS controls and cause-and-effect relationships.
Proven track record of excellence in a similar role.
Excellent communication skills.
