Furnace Operator

Pin Point Recruitment are looking for a Furnace Operator to join a manufacturing company based in Beckton.

You will join a small team operating in a well-established precious metals refinery based in East London. This is a great opportunity to join a mature, family run business and to learn, grow and develop with the role.

Job Role:

* Use of high temperature induction tilt furnaces to melt and shape scrap, alloys, chlorides and oxides from precious metal sources.

* Perform basic equipment maintenance including furnace and filtration system maintenance

* Graining of refined and un-refined precious metals

* Comply with and enforce company health and safety policies and procedures

* Communicate directly with refinery lead to determine status of assigned projects

* Maintain a clean and safe work area

* Use of standard laboratory equipment required to accomplish this role (calibrated balances, XRF)

* Other duties within the Refinery as and where required (training will be given)

Skills required:

* Experience of working in a foundry with precious metals - Essential

* Experience of using induction tilt furnaces - Essential

* Must be able to ensure accuracy, accountability, and be detail oriented- Essential

* Must be able to use a computer, have basic word & excel skills - Essential

* Good awareness of Health & Safety - Essential

* Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, adapt to change in work demands, and be self-motivated - Essential

* Forklift truck licence - Desirable (training can be given)
