Job Title: Cable Puller/Network Installation Technician
Location: Kent, South East England
Salary: £20,000 - £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Our client is a leading IT and communications specialist based in Kent. They provide comprehensive solutions to a diverse range of clients across South East England.
They are seeking a skilled and motivated Cable Puller/Network Installation Technician to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining network infrastructure, with a focus on cable pulling for various projects, including work for a leading telecommunications company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, pull, and terminate various types of cables, including fibre optic and copper cables
- Work on underground (UG) network projects
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Use specialized tools and equipment for cable installation and testing
- Perform cable management and labelling according to industry standards
- Conduct site surveys and assessments as needed
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Complete required documentation and reports
- Collaborate with team members and other trades to ensure project completion
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in cable pulling and network installation (all levels of experience considered)
- Valid UK driving license
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments (indoor/outdoor)
- Basic understanding of network infrastructure and cabling systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work on various job sites and occasional overtime as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card
- ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) card
- EUSR (Energy & Utility Skills Register) certification
- PIA standardised course certifications: SA002, K008, N028
- NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) certification for Signing, Lighting, and Guarding
- Experience working with Virgin Media or similar telecommunications projects
