Head of Strategic Category Management

£40 per hour(umbrella)

Full Time Contract (3 months)

Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Head of Strategic Category Management in Islington. This is a contract with a scope for extension working full time hours.

The job:

• Head and be fully responsible for an assigned category including leadership, developing progressive partnerships and achieving community benefits
• Enable procurement project and category management requirements, ensuring third party arrangements deliver very challenging corporate ambitions
• Formulate direction and advice, manage change, and lead and influence both internal and external stakeholders in all matters to do with procurement, category management and supply
• Oversight of procurement project and category management within legislative and governance frameworks
• Demonstrable full understanding of category including issues, risks, complexities, spend, potential efficiencies, income generation etc

The candidate:

• Must have an MCIPS or Equivalent
• Recent public sector experience in large and complex environment (ideally local authority)
• Worked at Head or Deputy Head style level
• Lead strategic negotiations with significant partners
• Experienced identifying and discuss effective management and mitigation of risk
