Warehouse Operative with Forklift Licence

Micheldever, Hampshire – own transport ideally required due to accessibility.

£12.50 per hour

07:30 – 16:30 Mondays to Fridays

Initially a temporary position with a minimum of 4 weeks temping, which may be offered as permanent after a while of temping.

The Company

Reed Recruitment are recruiting for a temporary warehouse operative that possesses a forklift licence for our client based in Micheldever. Our client manufactures high-end self-contained student accommodation modular unit for the construction industry, from their modern production facility.

Description of Role

This role will be predominantly warehousing with occasional forklift use. The Warehouse Operative will assist the Warehouse Supervisor in overseeing and coordinating the daily warehousing activities to ensure that daily operations of the warehouse meet and exceed daily performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with all warehouse processes including, but not limited to receiving, identifying, dispatching, and assuring quality of goods

• Ensure all storage areas remain completely ordered and tidy

• At the direction of the Warehouse Lead, ensure all manufacturing lines are fully supplied with tools and materials, etc, always

• Interface with internal stakeholders to answer questions or solve problems

• As required, maintain records, documentation, and necessary information

• At all times adhere to company procedures, policies, and practices

• As appropriate, suggest areas of improvement

• Ensure smooth and helpful communication between the warehouse and the other company departments

• Ensure company Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental policies are always adhered to

• Any other reasonable tasks as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor or Senior Management

Essential Key Competencies:

• Forklift/Counterbalance licence

• Experience of working within a warehouse environment

• A skilled organizer with attention to detail

• Working knowledge of health, safety, and welfare

Ideal/Non-Essential Requirements:

• Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency

• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles

• Fire warden

• Emergency First Aid

• Reach stacker licence

• An understanding of basic construction techniques
