Join our client a highly respected retail and financial services business as a Data Privacy & Information Security Specialist. In this role you will play a key role in safeguarding the company’s information assets across a global structure.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop, implement, and monitor Data Privacy and Information Security governance in compliance with industry regulations.
- Maintain and enforce Data Protection and Information Security policies, ensuring they are up-to-date with relevant legislation.
- Oversee the management of Personally Identifiable Data (PID) across various company systems.
- Provide expert advice on Data Processing and Information Security, ensuring compliance across all operations.
- Deliver compliance training and provide reports to senior leadership on the company’s adherence to data protection laws.
- Lead risk assessments, guide stakeholders on mitigating security risks, and respond to inquiries from compliance regulators.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive Information Security Management System (ISMS) in alignment with ISO27001 standards.
- Proactively manage and resolve information security incidents, working to prevent recurrence.
Key Requirements: - Extensive knowledge of Data Protection and Information Security practices, including current security issues and trends.
- Strong understanding of ISO27001/27002 standards and their application.
- Familiarity with relevant data protection legislation and industry requirements.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of networking technologies, web services, cloud security, and their security implications.
- Experience in or with the financial services industry is preferred.
