Salary: £35000 - £42000/annum

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join the existing team. This role will be required to undertake the: installation, commission, maintenance, service and repair.

The successful candidate will hold a BTEC/ONC, City & Guilds or NVQ level 3 or equivalent. Candidates will also need to hold a full driving licence as there may be a requirement to travel to multiple sites within the area.

Main duties will include, but are not limited to;

• To understand the workings of the engineering systems in all buildings.
• To instruct colleagues in all aspects of engineering systems in buildings.
• To participate in cross trade practices as developed and agreed with.
• To manufacture, assemble, erect, install and commission plant and equipment.
• To review, repair, maintain and efficiently run plant and equipment.
• Undertake more complex works that does not require the full range and skills of that of the Engineering Estates Officers.
• To accurately and neatly complete, develop and maintained recording keeping documents which could be used to demonstrate performance and compliance.
• To develop and maintain good working relationships with clinicians, Department Heads and external contractors.
• To use relevant tools, equipment and IT systems.
• To fully understand inter-relationship between the various maintenance crafts.
• To be able to diagnose and repair faults in engineering installations, plant and equipment, and deal with situations as they arise.
• To assist in investigating complaints and incident forms, liaising with the Estates Risk Management Team as necessary and implement measures as necessary to prevent reoccurrence and be personally accountable for their own actions.
• Be prepared to work outside normal hours (core) when required for emergencies or to complete work that for operational reasons cannot be carried out during the normal working hours.
• To be prepared to work overtime as above if and when required.
• To demonstrate a flexible approach required to alternate between dayshift and backshift working at short notice to ensure service needs are met.
• To demonstrate a commitment to on-going continuous professional development ensuring that training needs analysis are reflected within own personal development plan.
• To maintain systems, equipment and assets in line with to Health Technical Memorandums, Health Building Notes, ACOP and other mandatory and statutory requirements
• To fully engage within training requirements to ensure that they remain competent and up to date with changes in regulations and working practice to carry out duties placed upon them. If the post holder has any concerns regarding their level of competency then it is their responsibility to inform their Supervisor/Manager.
• Plan and prioritise own work, completing all necessary documentation.
• When on shifts/on call carry out making safe as applicable on building and engineering services.
• Deputise for Engineering Supervisor and/or Engineering Estates Officers if necessary
• To react to emergency situations and assist with evacuation procedures if necessary
