As our Senior Transport Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with our parcel carrier partners, ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of goods. You will lead negotiations, monitor carrier performance, and develop strategies to improve transportation efficiency. Reporting to the Head of Transport, the ideal candidate will have a good understanding of logistics and parcel carrier networks.
Your Role:
* Monitor parcel carrier performance, ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and adherence to service agreements and maintaining transport margins.
* Ensure compliance with parcel carrier regulations and safety standards.
* Develop and implement transportation policies and procedures.
* Negotiate with new carriers and lead RFQ's.
* Identify and implement strategies for optimising transportation costs and improving service quality.
* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth coordination of shipping activities.
* Analyse transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, producing daily, weekly and monthly KPI reports.
* Resolve any escalated carrier-related issues or disputes that arise during transit.
Your Profile:
* Good knowledge of parcel carrier networks, logistics and transportation
* Experience in leading 'Request for Quotes' with potential new clients
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
