Purpose of the role
To provide project support to any the major project business line. Allocate trucks, manage the HS2 inbox, ensure customer enquires are resolved, plan trucks and administrative tasks such as truck bookings and queries. Where appropriate produce and present periodic reports. Ensure all company procedures are adhered to and report noncompliance to line manager.
Key accountabilities
Handling verbal and written enquiries efficiently, effectively, politely and accurately.
Efficiently handle customer and haulier enquiries to resolution in a timely manner.
Be able to ship and allocate trucks, manage an inbox, and be able to set up quotes on SAP
Allocate and ship trucks to required HS2 sites, managing the allocation process from start to finish
Plan trucks effectively and efficiently, ensuring trucks are planned for maximum loads to drive efficiency from our depots to sites
Manage the HS2 inbox, dealing with customer enquiries
Administrative tasks such as queries, booking deliveries for HS2 and reports
Adherence to company policy & procedures.
Maintain good working relationships with drivers and/or traffic staff of service providers
Daily liaison with line manager to identify planning issues and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor driver / haulier availability

Job requirements
Essential:
Ability to work as part of a team within a fast-paced logistics environment
Communication skills, problem solving skills
Ability to work on multiple tasks at once
Proficient user of IT Software packages including SAP and Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication skills.
Keyboard and VDU experience.
Confident phone manner.
Desirable:
Knowledge of construction industry and products.
Knowledge of local and national geography.
Knowledge of transport regulations.
