My client is looking for an interim Head of HR/HR Manager to ideally go temp to perm.

Working on a hybrid basis 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home but can look at 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH.

Supporting the offices based in Tunbridge Wells.

Job purpose

To take a hands-on approach with the day-to-day management of the entire HR function team overseeing the activity & performance of the team. To provide strategic guidance and be responsible for the implementation of new initiatives, processes, policies and procedures in line with business goals [via the HR team.] To analyse operations and run projects to improve the HR function.

Job overview

Reporting into the Director of People, the Human Resource Manager will manage both operational activity and implement strategic initiatives. You'll manage all aspects of the HR function from talent management, recruitment strategy, employee relations and people management, to policies and procedures and strategic projects to improve the HR function.

You [and your team] will provide a professional and effective HR advice service across the business at all levels, always maintaining confidentiality.

You'll be accountable for the overall performance of the HR function [and the team] ensuring all activities are inline with business objectives, compliant and within budget against agreed KPIs.

You'll be managing a team of 3, providing advice and coaching as necessary. You'll produce career development plans for the team to support with their professional growth.

Key responsibilities

Recruitment and onboarding

Develop a talent management plan to attract and retain employees
Build and deliver a comprehensive recruitment strategy [aligned with seasonality/staff attrition/growth plans]
Oversee hiring processes, ensuring that hiring managers and the HR team have tools available to successfully source candidates, interview and recruit
Create onboarding plans for all levels of new employees
Facilitate succession planning

People management

Provide expert advice and support on all HR matters, at every level of the business
Supervise and resolve complex employee relation issues
Act as a bridge between management and employees by addressing performance management issues and employee demands
Direct and mentor HR team members
Define career pathways and learning & development plans with relevant training tools and manage any third-party resources
Conduct salary benchmarking exercises and support management with performance reviews and subsequent support plans
Manage HR reporting requirements against KPIs

Policies and procedures

Review, develop, and monitor HR policies and procedures, along with implementing changes where necessary to drive performance and mitigate disputes
Drive alignment between HR strategies, policies, and business goals in collaboration with senior management
Check that policies and procedures are being followed at all times

Operational

Support with payroll, pensions and benefit management

What you bring to the team

CIPD Qualified
Previous experience as a HR Manager with people management skills
Strong knowledge of employment law
People oriented and results driven with a positive & proactive attitude
Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
Ability to define and execute action plans
Strong leadership skills
Proven ability to deal with a range of HR issues
