Job Description:

Driver Hire are recruiting on behalf of a reputable logistics company based in Skipton, who are seeking skilled Wagon and Drag Drivers to join the team on a flexible basis. This role involves operating a Wagon and Drag vehicle to ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods from the depot in Skipton to the hub based in Litchfield. Upon arrival at the hub, you will be directed round for unloading and loading of the goods.

The start time for this role is 6.45pm and you will leave the hub by 3am to return back to the depot in Skipton. With a guaranteed 8 hours and overtime on top, this could be the perfect role for you to make a great earning whilst only working a few nights a week!

Key Responsibilities:

* Safe Operation: Drive and operate a Wagon and Drag vehicle, ensuring all loads are transported securely and in compliance with safety regulations.

* Route Navigation: Plan and navigate efficient routes to meet the delivery schedule for 10pm at the Hub, considering factors like traffic and road conditions.

* Vehicle Inspections: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking for any maintenance issues and ensuring roadworthiness.

* Compliance: Adhere to all legal and company requirements, including hours of service, transport legislation, and health and safety regulations.

* Customer Service: Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with clients during pickups and deliveries.

* Documentation: Accurately complete all required paperwork, such as delivery notes, logbooks, and vehicle checklists.

* Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with the transport office regarding delivery status, delays, or any issues that arise.

Requirements:

* Valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence.

* CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification.

* Digital Tachograph card.

* Previous experience operating a Wagon and Drag vehicle is required, ideally 2+ years is desirable

* Strong understanding of safety and compliance regulations.

* Good communication and time management skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
